Established in 1969, the Gun Barrel City Fire Department started as a group of dedicated well trained volunteers. Today, the department has grown into a combination department of career and volunteer fire professionals with two stations, seven apparatus, one rescue boat and one command vehicle serving the second largest populated city in Henderson County, Texas on the north end of the Cedar Creek Lake Reservoir. One fundamental goal has remained unchanged: To serve the citizens by saving lives and property.

 As our history shows, we have been truly fortunate to have the strong support of Gun Barrel City’s residents and City leaders in obtaining the resources necessary to carry out our mission.
